Sinopsis: La historia gira en torno a Renton y su grupo de amigos adictos a la heroína, cuyas vidas van llegando lentamente al punto del colapso. La rebeldía de los años jóvenes y la oposición por una vida tradicional va perdiendo poco a poco su glamour entre más profundo llega la adicción, por lo que Renton decide dejarlo todo ─esta vez en serio─ y mantener una vida sana y prometedora. Pero pronto se dará cuenta que ése será un viaje no sólo con obstáculos ya conocidos, sino uno donde las personas que conoce se verán envueltas de más de una manera y con distintos intereses, y al final, Renton tendrá que elegir no sólo una vida tradicional con todos sus lujos y comodidades, sino cómo y con quién vivirla.

Crítica: Lo primero que debo decir es que he visto muchas películas cuya temática principal es la adicción a las drogas, y a pesar de que ésta presenta dicho problema con humor negro y personajes no exactamente dramáticos, ningún filme me ha hecho sentir tanto pavor por tal estilo de vida como lo hizo éste. Y en dicho eso cabe pues la buena dirección por la que Danny Boyle ya es conocido, así como la buena obra literaria en que se basó la película y la buena adaptación para el guion. Trainspotting nos presenta la realidad como pocas películas se atreven y logran hacerlo, y sin importar si nos gusta la vista o no, es tan cruda como la realidad misma, y eso es un logro cinematográfico.

Si tuviera que quedarme con una banda de rock progresivo con influencias screamo, sería Taking Back Sunday. A pesar de los muchos cambios que ha sufrido, sus canciones son generalmente buenas, destacando en voz y sonido. Este single me gusta en especial por la buena estructura que tiene y el ritmo pegajoso. Aunque la letra, como la mayoría de sus canciones, contiene mucho descontento juvenil e ideas más bien modernas, no pierde su valor lírico y capacidad de hacer al oyente sentirse identificado.
